Cloud Mac guides for Claude Code and Codex
Read the iOS build guide to choose where Claude Code or Codex should run. Read the GitHub Actions cost guide to estimate macOS CI charges. For setup, use the Claude Code and Codex quickstarts; for Macswarm rates, see pricing.
Which cloud Mac guide do you need?
Choose by where the work runs. Local development on a Mac you own needs no hosted Mac: Claude Code runs against that machine’s Xcode, and Claude Code Desktop can drive the iOS Simulator there. A hosted agent session, started from claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Slack or the Codex app, needs a Mac the session itself runs on; the iOS build guide below explains that boundary, and the Claude Code and Codex quickstarts connect a Pod. A test matrix on every push belongs on a CI runner; the GitHub Actions cost guide prices that, and macOS CI runners pricing compared lists the alternatives with sources. Macswarm rates are on pricing; the docs cover what a Pod includes.
